Personal Best Acheived Today. 81kms.

20/04/15 Day 34, Monday, Montpellier, we call it a rest day, but really it is a catch up on jobs day, washing, bike maintenance, food shopping & blogging.

Washing all the muck off the bikes from the rainy day before & oiling chains.

Jenny cooking up some gastricnomic delights for dinner.

Cheesy Crepes and mash potatoes, my fault really the picture on the freezer box
Looked like fish fillets, instead I Acheived purchasing a meal with no meat. WTF.

France.
21/04/15 Day 35, Tuesday, Montpellier to Arles, via Algues Mortes (great castle there), 81kms, Glorious sunny day, 23degC, 15km head wind from 1.30pm onwards. Very flat riding for most of the day. Heaps of pollens set my hay fever off. False departure from campground at 10am, we had to organise a SIM real departure 11am, arrival into Arles at 5pm. Jenny & I achieved our all time personal best today of 81kms, our legs still had a bit left in them, maybe another 10kms ?

Trip Notes:
😄Getting SIM at Palavas les flots at the Post Office, La Poste.
😛More French pastries. Yummo !
😳Davo GPS took us along some quiet roads. Onya Dave
😜Cyclist ( French) helped us through Carnon. Much to GPS Dave's amusement.
😱Wild white horses about 8 on a track, scary they were being rounded by some women, but still out of control.
😁Lots of riding through swampy, marshy lands. Keep your mouth closed Jen,  BUGS !
😀Meeting an Italian adventure cyclist. Unusual name Tittiarno ??
😳Riding into Arles during peak hour. Noticed an ancient Roman Arena that needs checking out.
😘Having the best beef steak at a 3 star campground. Jen had duck. While the French Simpsons were playing on TV. Camping City Arles, thanks Audrey...
😭Oh did I mention my shockingly Hayfever argh 3 x 180mg antihistamines today.
😀81km covered on the bicycles today yippee, we are getting better at this gig.

We were woken up by this chopper, spraying for mosquitoes or birds ?

Time to get packing... & make sure the bungalow is clean, we want our 350€ bond.

Tower in Montpellier, I was getting bored after my 40minute wait guarding our stuff while Jenny endeavoured to obtain a French SIM card from the La Poste.

But finally success, we now have Comms again. You Bewty Mate.

Ahh the joy of a nice salad pain roll, top weather today.

Some French Dude slightly crazier then us.

American Trikers gave us a big wave...cool !

Castle at Algues Mortes

Massive Castle at Algues Mortes, with a whole town inside.

Living the Dream.

Another food break, out in the back roads of a very swampy area on the D179.

Do you notice the large nest in the top left of photo.

It has a real live baby stork in it. Mum must be out delivering human babies ?

Large Canel Barge coming through a lock.

Direction Davo on the Job, the Italian Adventure Cyclist had one as well, probably why we were all on the same road.

We thought those white horses were behind an electric wire, but all of a sudden they were trotting on the road. We were nervous, the women trying to round them up all looked at us like it was our fault they couldn't control them. Maybe yelling out
Yeeha Black Betty wasn't such a great idea Jen ?

All set up after our epic ride. Camp City Arles, turned out to be ok.... Until the morning.

Sneak peak of Wednesday, wet, misty, drizzle stuff. Both laying in the tent with a bad case of bladder debate. Don't think we'll beat to many PB's today.
