Bike Problems, Wife Problems.

23/04/15 Day 37, Thursday Salon de Provence to Aix en Provence, 46kms. Great weather, not much wind, some minor hills, rode on back roads. Perfect riding day. 24 degC day. Bad Attitude....

Restless sleep for both of us, room was fine we are just antsy. We both got up at 9 am and went searching for food. First stop was a cafe that we felt ripped us another pocket for just two coffees. so we paid up....ok I'll let you know 6€60 for to very small piss warm milks. My attitude begins to deteriorate.

Next stop the Patisserie, their version of a sausage roll, ok, a couple of small pizzas and Vienna slice.. Ok slightly happier.

Next we found the Museum of Nostradamus, it was over the top with props and talking, basically shit. Yet another pocket ripped into my bicycle shorts & sorry people I don't need the extra airflow !  On a positive note I've popped so many antihistamines that my hay fever seems bearable for now.

Then we hit the road, Ole Yellow Dawg is creaking like it's one hundred and ten, every time I do a revolution of the pedals there is a loud tick-tock driving me nuts. I pretty much said to Jenny, I can't handle this noise much longer. So we decided to cut our day short and ride to Aix en Provence & get it sorted.

After a lovely country ride, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, etc. we arrived. Jen checks Madam Google and comes up with the hit of , MEGA BIKES, so we push onwards to MEGA BIKES  about 4 clicks away through a major city/town. We arrive at MEGA BIKES in the hope they can assist us stupid Aussie cyclists and guess what ! ! ! They can, if we want to buy a Ducati, Yamaha, Piagio, or several other motorbike brands. Must admit nearly kicked Yellow Dawg in the ass and bought another Yamaha 1200cc Super Tenere.

So we sat outside of MEGA BIKES and pondered our navels for about 40 minutes. Then decided a bungalow at a Campground was the go. Ride, ride, ride, through the mega traffic on the wrong side of the road for 5 kays, first CG says no bungalows, see ya mate, can't remember Aurivour so another kilometre to the next CG, but 2 nights only for bungalow Misure . F$&k Jennifer's not going to like this sh*t, she's already out in the carpark crying.....
So tent site it is the CG turned out to be ok & we cooked up some rice/fish concoction helped down with Heineken & Red Wine.

Better Attitude tomorrow....oh forgot, while at  MEGA BIKES I rung SJS Cycles in the UK & spoke to Steve, ( his English was lovely). Steve is one of the bicycle mechanics and he gave me some Tick Tock advise. Long story, short it was the pedals.....arrgghh

Not many pics of our day, because Jenny wasn't in a very photographic mood...oh dear!

In search of food.

The Prophet, Nostradamas.

In the Notradamas Museum, flashing light show, with audio, and manniquins as props ?

Town Clock in Salon, the blue section represents the signs of the zodiac.

Time to hit the road, lather up with some SPF50+ sunscreen.

The bike troubles begin, every rotation of my pedals generates an awful tick, tock, sound.

Nice view, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, crap sound, :-(

Lots of poppies (red) with all of the canola.

Lunch break, notice the Pain (French roll) on Jen's bike, ended up being a dud. No more photos were taken for the remainder of the day, as chief photographer was well over her day....maybe I'll snatch the camera back for tomorrow.
