Tuesday 24/02/15, Quick 1 week Tour of the South West in the 4WD.

Quick 1 week Tour of the South West in the 4WD.
We were suppose to depart on Monday the 23rd around lunch time and camp near Woodanilling but due to multiple distractions we didn't escape home until 6.30am Tuesday. Jen was also shattered from our motor bike ride to Hillary's Boat Harbour the day before, negotiating the Perth traffic for 250 kms is no easy task especially with Ross River Virus (RRV) !
Hillary's Boat Harbour Sunday 22/02/15

There you go Olivia, I got you home
 all safe.

At least the "Cruiser" was packed and ready for action.
Monday, All packed but now it's 3pm.

Our route to Bremer Bay took us past towns like Dwellingup, Quindaning, Williams, Woodanilling, Katanning and Jerramungup.
After 564kms we finally arrived at the very small town of Bremer Bay, neither of us have ever been here before.
We had a quick look around, topped the Landcruiser up with diesel (only 129.9 per litre, pretty good for down here) and at 3pm headed another 25km to House Beach.
It took us 1 hour to cover the distance on the very cut up track. There was also numerous sandy sections. I would recommend you only bring a 4WD out here, if you are towing an off road camper you would also get through. Don't even consider a caravan !
House Beach is a beautiful, small beach with pure white squeaky sand, clear turquoise water, sheltered, granite rock sections book ending the beach, just great.
We also figured out that it's called House Beach due to the corrugated shack out here, some ones holiday/fishing shack? We also had the whole place to ourselves !
So Jenny and I worked together to get our camp set up, a task we have performed thousands of times, so it doesn't take long before we are cracking open a beer. This is Glamping for us !
An hour or so later a thunder storm rolled in so we rigged up some extra shelter, a tarp tied to the roof rack of the Cruiser usually suffices. Jenny nearly had the chicken stew ready when the rain started, it wasn't too heavy but enough to be annoying. It's still raining now....2 hours later and we are  both tucked up in the tent. I'm hoping we don't get too much rain because judging by the dried up mud ruts in the track on the way here it would be difficult to get out.
Tomorrow we plan on rock fishing, beach & bush walks, laying in the hammock reading and maybe a quick swim. A young bloke from Albany was taken by a white pointer shark a few weeks ago, so not to keen on snorkelling at the moment.

6am Tuesday morning, nearly ready to go!

Quick rest break near Quindanning.

Old (&small) Caterpillar from a bygone era at Jerramungup.

We arrive at Bremer Bay, nice easy drive.

Bremer Bay Beach is nice. Sand is really fine & squeaks when you walk on it.

Jenny's happy to get here.

Cut up dirt track towards House Beach, on the western edge of
Fitzgerald National Park.

Home made signs lead the way.

Just making sure we are headed in the right direction.

Sandy tracks.

Beautiful House Beach, with rain on the way.
