Only a week to go and the gear is out.

So we spent Monday with Liv, and today we actually got our shit together (after cleaning the house, ugh) and started to put things together.

When we got all the stuff out it looked like a lot. It all has to fit in the bike boxes and weigh less than 32kgs. That is including the box, which weighs 3.4kgs. So the weigh in begins. Round one.

The bikes weigh in at 19kgs for Will's, and 18kgs for good Ol' Black Betty. That is including our handle bar bags which have "stuff" in them. Doesn't leave much weight for everything else. Hmm.

My plan is to put as much as will fit into the boxes, then the rest is carry on luggage. Will did a complete weigh in and we came to 72kgs. So round two to make sure we don't take anything we really don't need, or can buy when we get to Madrid (things like toiletries, food and cleaning gear).

Tools are necessary, but heavy. Will has culled as much as possible. Hopefully he has everything HE will need.....I am no mechanic. My job will be chief cheffie.

The trustie tent comes out again and I am really looking forward to camping out in another country. It is actually illegal in much of Spain, unless you ask permission from the land owners. But that never stopped us before, hey?

So, progress. Now to try and fit it all in the boxes. Just a giant jigsaw puzzle, that is all it is. With a time limit...no pressure....
