Day 11 - Nala Mia/Jarrahwood

Day 11 - Detour Destroyer

A bit slow to head off from Donnybrook this morning.  Enjoyed our stop at the Travel Park chatting to some older people living life.

Finally got our shit together and pushed off. We had to ride ALL the way to the other end of town  (1km...he he he ) to Home Hardware to try and get some fuel for our little stove and some more Bushmans (40% Deet only ) as no one else had any. They were sold out too....those fly nets might yet get a run.

So on the track,  first bit was pretty cool,  through the bush and lots of good things to look at.

At about 17km in,  we were starting to get our Mojo back.  That was until we found the DIVERSION.  Due to logging,  we were directed onto Vernon Rd.

11kms of soft gravely rolling hills. Killer hills,  just one mother after another. No speeding on the down side as fishtailing was getting out of control scary.

Oh my god NO NO NO NO NO. This was supposed to be an "easy " day,  45kms of easy. .....What the fuck is that?

Please let them stop.
The diversion added 3kms to the day and after those hideous hills on Vernon rd we were buggered.

About 3.5kms from Jarrahwood  (we hoped ) we caught up to a small group of teachers and kids who had ridden from the hut 20kms and were heading back.  They gave us the good news and it was enough to keep me going.

A bit smokey from a fire around Nannup but still a gorgeous sight.

We left the hut to the group and relaxed under the big tree, watching the bunnies and mob of Kangaroos come in on dusk.

I had no idea Jarrahwood existed or that people even live here. What a great spot.
