Relaxing To Death

13/10 - 15/10/15 Port Lincoln 16kms

Our first day in town, we just walked around town and checked out the tourist attractions available. Basically, there is Shark Cage Diving, Fishing charters a couple of wineries (way out of town), and a few museums. There is a good range of retail shops, a massive Woolworths and Coles, and a Foodland. Also a Target and Kmart.

Just deciding on what seafood we'll have for lunch......

We ate here two times, it was really good. The kids didn't mind waiting outside.

Everyday we lazed around, read books, walked around the shops, and stopped at the pubs for a few drinks. We met up with Rob, who was staying at the YHA, and went and had a look through it with him. It is an awesome place. It would be my recommendation for accommodation in the future. Lots of options for all sorts of people, and the owners are great. Fantastic facilities, and because you can cook your own food and they have a movie room and bar, it works out a lot cheaper than the pubs.

Difficult to look at all day....quite sheltered too.

Give this place a go, it looks fab. Clean, colourful and heaps of facilities. Good prices.

The bar at the YHA. The owners built it, it is made of wood.

The only great white we saw, the boat trip was $500 each and they're not seeing any at the moment.

We did do a big ride along the Parnkalla Walking Trail, from town out to the marina, and back, after we stopped for lunch at the Marina Hotel. There were plenty of huge tuna fishing boats, and lots of very flash houses. It reminded us of Mandurah. It was a pretty warm day too, at 36C, so we had a nanna nap before catching up with Rob for our last dinner in town. Rob is staying for an extra day, he has lots of time to waste/relax, before meeting friends in Broken Hill.

A huge grain ship coming into port to be filled up.

The business side of town. Grain, tuna and sharks.

Looking back to town.

The marina full of tuna fishing boats. The fun boats were on the other side.

Dinner with Rob was great, and we all had a few more drinks than planned, but enjoyed it all. Luckily we only had to walk up two flights of stairs, poor Rob had to walk a couple of kays back to the YHA. Lucky he's super fit hey?  It was a great experience riding with Rob, and we will miss him. But who knows, he may catch us up somewhere along this coastline. It will be good to be riding again tomorrow, four days off is too many.
