7/05/15, Day 51, Thursday, Italy/Switzerland, Bariana(Milan) to Chiasso (Switzerland), 49kms. Travel- 10.30am to 4.15pm. Sunny with clouds, 25degC max, hay fever still bad. Not much wind. Hard riding day.
21€ lunch, 220€ Accom BAHNHOF Haus (2 nights), dinner 40€, total = 281€
Well that wasn't much of a day, mainly due to some poor directions from the GPS. The distance to Como should have been some where between 35-40kms. It should have been an easy day, but it wasn't !
Pay day again.....already.
We considered burying DavoGPS here.
Firstly DavoGPS had us going back past the Expo2015 site which we had already negotiated the previous day, so that added at least another 6kms to our day. Then Davo thought some hardcore mountain biking in the swamp was a good idea, so now our wheels are covered in poo mud.

Nothing seemed to go quite right all day & getting to Como/Chiasso took way to long, at least there was a nice down hill run into town.
We crossed into Switzerland at the still manned border crossing with no issues, then pulled over to attempt to locate our Hotel. As it turned out the Hotel was only another 30mtrs away !
We have a 25m2 room so we lugged our bikes & gear up to the first floor. Once we were all clean and tidy we crossed back into Italy to go and wash our clothes. The nice reception man had provided us with some good directions. Washing on & doing it's thing, we headed over to a Hotel, had a couple of beers & waited until 7pm to order dinner. We both had pasta dishes for dinner, collected our now clean clothes from across the busy road & headed back towards Switzerland. They use Swiss Francs for money so tomorrow will have to find another ATM.

8.30pm and it's time to head back to Switzerland. After dinner in Italy.

8/05/15 Friday, Switzerland, Chiasso, Rest Day.
Jenny and I had a nice sleep in this morning. It is our first rest day after 7 days of riding, over the last 7 days our distance averages out to 65km per day. That is a good effort for us !
We skipped brekky and found an ATM inside a nearby Bank, we put in 300CHF (Swiss Francs) and the machine spits out only 2 notes.....ah we have been ripped ! On closer investigation one of the notes is a 100CHF & the other is a 200CHF note, Jen & I look at each other and both say in unison, "Switzerland must be super dear if ATM's give out 200CHF (about $250AUD) notes" ! Luckily we only plan on taking 8 days to cycle to Basel about 360kms away.
Next stop the Bike Shop, only one display bike but heaps of cycle clothing. Jen finally found a pair of Ladies cycle pants that fit her perfectly & a warm cycle jacket as well. The prices were comparable with other shops we had been into in Spain & France, pricey but good quality. So Jenny is really happy that she can finally fit into some real woman's cycling apparel !
Not much else planned today, try and find a Swiss Cycle Trail Map, catch up on blogs & pay bills.
Starting tomorrow (Saturday) Jenny will be back to keeping wiljen's adventures blog updated & I'll move back to wiljen's Eurovelo adventure on CGOAB website. Thanks for all of your comments, likes, emails and support. It does help us.
