Hangin With Liv, Part Two

15/11/15 Adelaide

Sunday slow day! We all slept in, then Olivia went out to breakfast with a friend, so Will and I just cooked up the rest of our food and read our books. Finally around 3pm, we all reunited, and walked to PJ O'Briens Irish pub, to meet Joanne. This was the only pub I could find, that had live music on a Sunday. Don't they do Sunday Sessions in Adelaide?

So we proceeded to have our session, listening to some great acoustic Irish guy, and as an added bonus, some young talented Irish "River Dancers". We had Sunday roast for $12, and a couple more beers, then decided to go check out another pub. Olivia left us again, being picked up in a stretch limo. What? What about us? Dumped! Huh, never mind, we found the Austral, and a few more beers, before placing Joanne safely in Ainsley's (her daughter, who came to collect her) car, and waving drunk'nly goodbye. Will decided it would be safer for us to get a taxi back, so flagged some poor bugger down, who drove us the 2 or so kilometres home. Then we proceeded to polish off a much needed (NOT) bottle of red wine from our tour collection.

Bit blurry, and we are not even close to drunk yet.....fun night.

16/11-18/11/15 Victor Harbour

Needless to say, all three of us were tired and not so energetic on Monday morning, our eviction day. We staggered around, packed up, and left our inner city apartment. Somehow, we were unable to fit everything into our bags, and needed to make use of a few shopping bags???

We made a brief stop over at Joanne's (poor thing had to be at work by 8am, hope she is ok), to borrow some bedding. Then, we discovered that "Schoolies " was starting, and our destination was one of the top places for the event. Oh poop! Never mind, we can be "Toolies ", and annoy all the drunkin schoolies. Sounds like fun. First stop, though, we need food and the nearest outlet, was unfortunately Macca's! As Toolies, it was acceptable, so we did it. We were hung over, eating Macca's, and on our way to Schoolies! We have so got this Toolie thing.

Our next little home at the caravan park.

Victor Harbour is only one hour from Adelaide, even on the scenic route, but we just took the direct road, and got there by around 11am. We had a little look along the beach, and noticed a total lack of schoolies. So we checked in to the cabin at our caravan park, and relaxed, read and enjoyed watching the magpies walking around us. Will had contacted Bruce and Marg, and discovered they were in town too. So we arranged to have a BBQ with them near our cabin.

Hello again, guys, great to see you again.

These guys are amazing, and having a great time.

Tuesday, it was bloody hot, so we laid around until the afternoon and then drove up to the bluff, to check out the views. Very nice indeed. Then we took a walk over to Granite Island and had a look around there. It was nice too. We ate dinner at the pub, which was good, then had an early night.

Victor Harbour, peaceful until Friday when Schoolies actually starts.

Beautiful views from the Bluff, hey Liv?

More gorgeous views, and a gorgeous pair.

Going back in time is always fun.

The causeway to Granite Island.

There are real Fairy Penguins on the island, but it was too hot for them to be about.

Horse drawn tram that runs across the causeway. What an amazing horse.

Granite rock formations look cool.

Liv enjoying a stroll along the boardwalk.

It really is a great spot. Just not this weekend, when schoolies is on..

Nice whale fountain in town.

Not that pub, the other one looked nicer.

Olivia drove us back to Adelaide, via Goolwa and Strathalbyn, and we came across Bruce and Marg on their ride too. We stopped and had another chat, and gave them our bananas, before wishing them a safe and fun ride home. They still have a couple of months to go. We got home mid afternoon, and then Olivia left us to go out with friends. Will and I, just did some food shopping and relaxed at Joanne's mums house.

Hindmarsh bridge, taking us over to Hindmarsh Island and the mouth of the Murray River.

It's hot, they have a brewery in Goolwa, so we had a quick coldie.

They are constantly having to sand dredge the mouth, to keep it all open.

This is the mouth of the mighty Murray River.

Looking back towards Victor Harbour.

Fancy meeting you guys out here?

Olivia was bored, so practiced her balancing.

Strathalbyn, settled by the Scottish. Very nice town.

19/11/15 Adelaide

Thursday was clean and start the prep for Kangaroo Island. Joanne drove us back to her place, so we could ride the bikes to her mums for prepping. We did really well finding the bike route that Jilden had taken us on, on our first ride way back when we arrived. It was so good to be out of the traffic and out of the car. When we got home, Will cleaned Jean's car, while I had a nap. It was hot! We did some washing, and sorted some gear, and Olivia finally returned home after two days, as she is flying back to reality tomorrow.

A quick seat adjustment to make it right for me again.

These bike paths are so great.

Just checking google maps, which show bike routes, to make sure we're on track.

Huh, fancy that, we found our way.

20/11/15 See Ya Liv

Friday was a slow start, breakfast out at Brighton beach, before getting ourselves packed and ready to be on our way. We dropped Olivia at the airport, and said good bye, returned to Jean's house to complete our packing, then cooked a nice curry for dinner. We decided to go see Jo, and have a couple of drinks to celebrate Ainsley's end of exams. This turned into a change of departure, as Jilden and Jo wanted to ride with us, out of town, and couldn't do it till Sunday. So Sunday it is!

Gonna miss ya chicken,

Have a good flight, see ya in a couple of weeks.

Well done guys, you survived exams again!

21/11/15 Still Adelaide

Saturday, today, we are now helping Joanne with some jobs around her mums house, and I will ride Jo's bike from her house to Jean's, so we can all be ready for an early departure in the morning. I think we may be going to see the latest James Bond movie tonight, with Jo and her girls. We're really looking forward to heading off tomorrow. Can't wait!
